About

My name is Torey Potter and my husband Mike and I have lived on Capitol Hill since 2005. We have two sons, Dylan who is eight, and Gabe who is five. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Arizona State University, as well as a BA in Spanish. I began my obstetrics nursing career in Arizona in 2002 and began working at George Washington University Hospital when I moved to DC in 2005. In my ten years as a labor and delivery nurse I helped hundreds of mothers initiate breastfeeding and get off to a good start. After seven years at GW, I decided to take some time off to spend more time with my boys. But I never lost my passion for women’s and infants’ health and in 2014 I decided to further my education in lactation. I completed my Lactation Counselor certification in 2014 and continue to work on lactation education and counseling.
